Folding miter saw station with worksurface
Your workspace is a reflection of yourself. Here’s part of mine.
Even when I’m not doing jobs in my community, I can still often be found at work in the garage or the yard. The bench below is my own, specifically crafted to meet my demanding needs. It provides a sturdy platform for a high-capacity compound miter saw, packed with time-saving details like integrated measuring, clamping, leveling, and dust collection. A saw like this is a huge asset, but it also demands a huge amount of space.
My bench design allows the miter saw to fold away, effortlessly replacing a central cutting station with a flexible workspace. It also fits the saw snugly over a set of concrete steps that were poured as part of the original foundation. In the stowed configuration, the bench features a level surface twelve feet in length, with ample storage underneath.

The saw station includes two side tables that form a continuous surface with the saw and the adjacent workbench. An integrated t-track and ruler allows for precise measurements and movable end-stops to rapidly produce repeated cuts.

When not in use, the saw folds down to free up the workspace. The saw station is specifically configured to mount a smooth worktop when the saw is stowed, while also fitting over an old set of concrete steps in the garage area.

The frame for the saw includes six robust legs, half-lap braces, and heavy-duty adjustable feet to provide a level workspace no matter the floor.

The saw station can cut 6"x6" dimensional lumber up to 14 feet long. Integrated dust collection improves air quality without sacrificing the double beveling saw's ranges of motion.

When I stow the saw, I can use the space for other crafting activities. The saw support legs fold neatly away along the frame, and the benchtop is cut from a single piece of plywood for a continuous grain pattern.

The miter saw station is the centerpiece of an organized and efficient workspace.
